Inspiration

I hope you have all had good weekends, we had what I think will be our last sunny and warm day for a while, I took the girls to a local beauty spot, Devils Dyke to look for fairies. Needless to say we didn't find any fairies, but the girls ran free and wild and we did get to see a hand-glider launch himself off the hillside, igniting what I think might be a desire in Elvia to try it herself sometime! I told her she might need to wait until she is a little older! Remember Emily Quinton from Makelight (who not only was last week's Gathered Style favourite, but also whose brilliant workshop I attended a while back), well she recently invited all of her past students to share an image with her on a given theme, and today she has shared our images on her blog.  I love challenges like these, seeing the different interpretations is fascinating!

The theme for September was 'Inspiration', and below is my image.

I think this image probably speaks for itself, but these books are some of my favourites, and ones I go back to look at again and again.  The flowers as you know, are something I love to photograph, the ones in the bowl, have provided me with so much inspiration over the summer, they have been blooming constantly and I have used them a great deal.  Finally the natural items; the wooden bowl, and the linen string, are the sort of thing I love and tend to use in my photographs.

Why don't you pop over to Makelight now and take a peek at Emily's other student's photographs, they are all so lovely, and all so inspiring!

Have a great week.
