Makelight Photography Training for Bloggers

Hello!  I hope you have had a lovely weekend, its been scorching here in Brighton, so the last couple of days has included lots of fun in the sun; a carnival, paddling in the sea, and of course icecream!  Today, I wanted to tell you about a fantastic workshop that I attended when we got back from Amsterdam, the Makelight photography for bloggers workshop, to be precise! The workshop is run by the very lovely Emily Quinton, who amongst other things has a fabulous blog, and an extremely pretty instagram feed, which is where I first discovered her work sometime last year.  Below are a couple of her stunning images.

Aren't they just beautiful?

I came away from the workshop feeling incredibly inspired, and I learnt some great tips and techniques to improve my photography.  There was an opportunity to do some practical exercises during the day too, and ask plenty of questions.  Emily was very approachable and totally honest about how she takes her photographs.  Obviously it wouldn't be fair to let you in on any of her secrets here, but I can say, I would highly recommend her workshops if you are a blogger, or indeed as Emily states, a shop-owner or maker looking to improve your photography skills.

Below are a couple of the shots I took early on in the day using some of Emily's pretty props.  I  have to confess, that I didn't take too many photos, despite my intentions of regularly updating my social media accounts with loads of atmospheric shots, I was just too busy processing everything we were being taught.

They aren't quite to Emily's standard, but practise makes perfect!  More than anything, I hope that you will notice a difference in my blog photography, after all, a picture paints a 1000 words.  Have a good week.
